Southern Experts Trial

First run in December 1931 , and was open to riders of proven Expert status, who live in the Southern half of England and Wales. The event operates under a National permit and the course is very demanding.
This Trial has 2 routes, one for the best of the Experts and the other, just
slightly easier for a class known as Clubman Experts. Many of the past
winners have been works' riders and the list of past winners contains many
famous names in the Sport.
The Trial is organised by the Sunbeam Club who supply the administration
and financially underwrite the event. They then identify another Club
somewhere in the Southern half of England and Wales who supply the land
and create the course. On the day of the Trial both Clubs are in evidence in
supplying top grade observers and administration which aims to get results out identifying award winners before the competitors go home.
This trial always attracts a top grade entry. Previous winners of this prestigious trial include, Colin Dommett,  Sammy Miller and Graham Jarvis.

During the history of the Trial, we have attempted to vary the locations throughout the qualifying areas of the South of England. In 2005 the trial was run in Bedfordshire, 2006 in Wiltshire, 2007 in Kent and is scheduled to be run in Gloucestershire in 2008.

This is a well supported and testing trial for the experienced rider.
