Welcome to The Sunbeam Motor Cycle Club’s website

Founded in 1924, the Sunbeam Motor Cycle Club remains one of the oldest clubs in the country, like so many good things, its beginnings were quite humble. On Monday 14th July 1924, the inaugural meeting of the Sunbeam Motor Cycle Club was held at the London showrooms of John Marston Ltd in Holborn Viaduct who made the Sunbeam motorcycles in their factory at Wolverhampton. This was followed up a few days later on Sunday 27th July in Richmond Park with a small rally of enthusiasts. The photo in our banner above was taken at this event.

Though starting as a one make club, it became, in 1925, a club welcoming members with any make of machine and has remained so to this day. Today, we organise riding and social events for all makes up to 31st December 1930 and trials bikes, both modern and pre 1965. We organise the premier event for pre 1915 motorcycles, the world famous Pioneer Run which has just celebrated the 70th event.
